Portfolio Entertainment Inc. wants to make their next show with you! InToon with Tweens is designed to encourage creativity, fearlessness, out-of-the-box thinking by opening the doors to new voices within the animation community. We are handing over the creative reigns and invite you to bring the funny with your concept for a TV or multi- platform series that will crack-up kids. Projects should be fresh, surprising and utterly new for children 8 to 12 years old.
Submit your projects for a chance at the First Place Prize of $7,500 CDN as part of a a 2 year Option and Development Agreement or a Second Place Prize of $2,500 CDN as part of a 1 year Option and Development Agreement. The top 15 finalists as selected by Portfolio Entertainment will gain unprecedented exposure to industry decision-makers in the area of children's programming. Our distinguished panel of judges is comprised of Portfolio Entertainment executives, broadcasters and prominent industry veterans (the "Judges"). Lending their expertise to select the two most entertaining, innovative and bold projects are Carole Bonneau (TELETOON Canada inc.), Marc Buhaj (Disney Channels EMEA), Rick Clodfelter (Cartoon Network), Jocelyn Hamilton (Corus Entertainment), Linda Simensky (PBS KIDS), Andra Sheffer (Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund) and Shari Cohen (Ontario Media Development Corporation).
FIRST PRIZE
The 1st place prize package includes $7,500, a two-year development deal with Portfolio Entertainment, Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium Software and Toon Boom's Enterprise Solution including Harmony and Storyboard Pro SOFTWARE for one-year & support from a Toon Boom expert.
SECOND PRIZE
The Second place prize package includes $2,500, a one-year development agreement with Portfolio Entertainment, Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium Software plus the use of Toon Boom's Enterprise Solution SOFTWARE for 6 months and support from a Toon Boom expert.
All eight finalists will also receive the use of Toon Boom's Enterprise Solution SOFTWARE with technical support for 3 months.
Prizes must be accepted as awarded, and are not transferable. Odds of winning a Prize may be dependent on a number of factors including the number of eligible entries received, the quality of the entries and the discretion of the Judges.
ELIGIBILITY and SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Submissions will be judged first by Portfolio Entertainment who will select the best 15 eligible Submissions in their sole discretion. These 15 Submissions (the "Finalists") will then be reviewed by a panel of industry experts including Portfolio executives, broadcasters and industry decision makers who will be looking for the most entertaining, engaging and innovative projects meeting the judging criteria: adherence to eligibility requirements, originality, creativity, humour, innovation, marketability, feasibility and the overall quality of materials submitted.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Television or Multi-Platform Projects
- Content targeted at children 8 - 12 years old (Comedy preferred)
- Applicant or one member of the creative team for the Submission must have at least one professional credit on a completed television animation pilot or series, or web site, web game, or web series (does not have to have been picked up or aired)
- All intellectual property (copyright, trademarks, logos, etc) in the Submission must be owned and controlled by the Applicant and must not be under option or have been optioned by any other producer prior to submission, and for the duration of the Contest until the Winners are declared [See Terms and Conditions for details]
- Applicant(s) must be 19 years of age or older
- All applications must be in the English Language Only
- No vulgarity, extreme violence, pornography
- Applicants must not be residents of the Province of Quebec or any other jurisdiction where participation in this Contest would be prohibited by law
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Completed Application Form including; bio(s) of the individual or creative and producing team, animation artist's website, reel or sample of work
- Project Elements which must include; project synopsis (one page minimum), character descriptions, character designs, and not less than 3 episodic outlines and may include sample animation. In addition, multi-platform projects must include a description of the use experience.

To be considered, all completed application forms and support materials noted below must be submitted online no later than 11:59 PM EST on Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Materials submitted will not be returned. Read the Official Rules and Regulations here.
